Rob Hamilton, M.Div.

Pastoral Counselor

Rob Hamilton is a North Carolina Certified Pastoral Counseling Associate and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America. He and his wife, Hayley, have enjoyed twenty-one years of marriage. Together they have five children.

 

Rob earned a B.A. in Music from UNCW and a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is currently a candidate in the Doctor of Ministry program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. 

 

Rob is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator for premarital and marriage counseling. 

 

He has seventeen years of experience in full-time pastoral ministry. He has served as the assistant pastor of a church in Virginia Beach, the associate pastor of a church in Naples, FL, and as the church planter and founding pastor of Christ the King Church in Wilmington, NC. 

Rob practices spiritually-integrated, faith-based counseling. He seeks to integrate the best of psychology with the theology of the Bible. His aim is to give hope to hurting people by getting to the heart of life's problems. He utilizes psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused counseling approaches. His areas of specialty include anxiety, stress, depression, grief, marriage, perfectionism, pornography and sexual addictions, spiritual crises, and identity issues. He practices under the supervision of Dr. George Gates, DMin, LCMHC-S.
