Pastoral Counselor

Rob Hamilton is a North Carolina Certified Pastoral Counselor (NCFBPPC), an IBCC Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (BCPC), and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America with seventeen years of experience in full-time pastoral ministry.  He holds a degree in Music from UNCW and Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Hayley, have enjoyed twenty-four years of marriage. Together they have five children, ages twenty to ten.

 

Rob is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH Facilitator for premarital and marriage counseling, a certified HeartMath Practitioner for Stress, Anxiety, and Self-regulation, and a Pastoral Sex Addiction Professional (PSAP) candidate with the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals (IITAP). 

Rob practices spiritually-integrated, faith-based counseling. He seeks to integrate the best of psychology with the theology of the Bible. His aim is to give hope to hurting people by getting to the heart of life's problems. He utilizes psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches. His areas of specialty include anxiety, stress, depression, grief, marriage, relationships and communication, perfectionism, OCD, pornography and sexual addictions, trauma, church hurt and spiritual/religious abuse, and spiritual crises.
